Untuk mempererat silaturahmi antar pecinta KA di wilayah Malang dan sekitarnya serta untuk menandai berakhirnya pengoperasian KA Malang Ekspres pada tanggal 30 Nopember 2009, maka komunitas-komunitas pecinta KA di Wilayah Malang dan sekitarnya, yaitu Indonesian Railway Preservation Society (IRPS), Komuter (Komunitas Peduli dan Pecinta KA ) dan Semboyan 35 pada hari Minggu, 29 Nopember 2009 menyelenggarakan kegiatan Kumpul-Kumpul Railfans Malang Raya dan sekaligus Joyride bersama menikmati saat-saat terakhir KA Malang Ekspres, dengan slogan “Maleks Menghitung Hari”. Kegiatan ini juga merupakan kegiatan pertama yang diselenggarakan oleh Kepengurusan IRPS Wilayah Malang, yang baru terbentuk pada bulan Agustus lalu.

In order to heighten positive images and love of rail transport in Indonesia, Director of Personnel and General Division of PT Kereta Api (Indonesian State Railway Company) had developed ideas of Indonesia rail transport roadshows. The roadshows would also promote trains love campaign, education on history and development of Indonesia rail transport, and the railway company’s products and services. The director also asked IRPS’ support and assistance in the roadshows.

On November 28, 2008, the Balai Yasa (Workshop) Surabaya Gubeng conducted a test run on CC200 15 and Djoko Kendil passenger cars. The East Java branch of IRPS also participated in the event. The IRPS team consisted of Ian, Edja, Dimas, Addin and Danur.

On November 14, 2008, at least 26 members of IRPS from Jakarta, Bandung, Pekalongan, Yogyakarta, Madiun, Malang, and Surabaya were in Surabaya to visit Balai Yasa (Workshop) Surabaya Gubeng and Sidotopo locomotive depot.

On the same date of IRPS’ 6th anniversary on June 25, 2008, Balai Yasa (Workshop) Surabaya Gubeng conducted a test run of a special train. The trainset consisted of CC20015 and Djoko Kendil passenger cars. The trainset was painted in dark green and light yellow livery, a livery of the then Perusahaan Jawatan Kereta Api. The train ran from Surabaya Gubeng Station in East Java to Purwokerto Station in Central Java via Yogyakarta.

On April 28, 2008, CC20015 departed from Cirebon to Surabaya via Semarang line. The locomotive pulled a passenger car numbered NRU 38201—the car was transferred to Cirebon from Manggarai Workshop two days before.

Eatern take action.
In May 5, 2007, IRPS members live around Surabaya City and East Java(Lutfi, Edja, Rizky Amalia, Yudha Wijaya, Mr. Asrofin, Ari Wiyono, Ian Antono, Danang Prasetyo, Yusuf Budi) organized a meeting in the Sidotopo locomotive depot.
From this meeting, have succeeded to be agreed on the management formation of IRPS East Java and program plan (preservation program and visiting railway facilities).

in March 5, 2003, IRPS members : Widoyoko, Harriman Widiarto, Eddy Mardijanto, Frans Sukarya, Hery Nugroho and Bagus Widyanto, visit to the Sultan Express luxury train set in Surabaya. They were warmly welcomed by Sudarsono, Head of 8th Region Public Relations and his staff. The visit was intended to check the possibility of the preserved CC200 hauling the two cars
