IRPS’ Participations in Railway Stations Conservation Discussion

A team of Identification Mission on the Revitalisation of Indonesia’s Railway Stations, consisted of Homme Heringa of Bureau Spoorbouwmeester and Ben de Vries of Netherlands Cultural Heritage Agency, was invited by PT Kereta Api’s Center for Historical Asset Preservation. The mission aims at defining Indonesian-Dutch cooperation in conserving and revitalising historical railway stations in Indonesia in their urban setting and social development. At the end of the visit, the team would recommend the possibility of Indonesian and Dutch cooperation in conserving and revitalising the stations.

A Report on the Inauguration of Tanjung Priuk Station and the Presentation of ESS 3201 locomotive

IRPS were asked by Directorate General of Rail Transportation of Transportation Department and PT Kereta Api (Indonesian state-owned railway company) to prepare a mini public showing about history of Tanjung Priuk Station and history, restoration and future plan of ESS 3201 in Tanjung Priuk Station.

A Report on the IRPS and Indonesian State Railway company (PT Kereta Api) Management meeting

On April 1, 2009, in the auditorium of Indonesian State Railway company (PT Kereta Api/PT KA) headquarter in Bandung, West java, was an installation ceremony for several employees of PT KA who where at the level of subdirectorate chief due to the company’s restructuration. An interesting fact of the ceremony was the inauguration of Indonesian Railway Preservation and Heritage Center, which was under the command of Executive Vice President (EVP) Ella and two vice presidents at the level of subdirectorate chief, i.e. Vice President/VP of Building and Non-building.

Cleaning Up BB200 29 locomotive

Cleaning Up CC200 15 locomotive

This event was proposed by Totok Purwanto, a member of Bandung branch of IRPS who was on duty in Cirebon, and held in Cirebon locomotive Depot on March 22, 2009. Cirebon was located 185 kilometers north-east of Bandung, West Java.

A Report on Retracing Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priuk Line

On February 21, 2009, a group of 30 people gathered at Jakarta Kota Station. They were two reporters of Merdeka daily, two members of Sahabat Museum community and IRPS members. They were about to retrace the Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priuk line. According to Riawan Widarsono, coordinator representative of Jakarta branch of IRPS, the purpose of the event was to recollect data about historical assets along the line. All data and documents gathered should be submitted to PT Kereta Api Daerah Operasi (Operation Region) I and Director General of Indonesian Railway.

Visiting Yogyakarta Workshop (Balai Yasa) and the diesel locomotive driving school facilities (BPTT) Yogyakarta

At least 25 IRPS members gathered under Lempuyangan flyover, Yogyakarta, to visit the Yogyakarta Balai Yasa (Workshop) and BPTT (a school for locomotive engineers) Yogyakarta on February 16, 2009. They came from Jakarta, Bandung, Purwokerto, Surabaya and, of course, Yogyakarta. Head of Production Unit Bambang Trisilo and some staff members of BY Pengok greeted the team.

Cleaning Up ESS 3201 locomotive

On Saturday, December 13, IRPS members—i.e Widarsono (and hies son), Nurrahman, Gepi Zuni, Krisanto, Asep Suherman and Ario Wibisono—aided by staff of Balai Yasa (Workshop) Manggarai cleaned up ESS 3201 locomotive. Rika, Logistic Chief of Manggarai Workshop, was also present on this occasion.

CC200 15 and Djoko Kendil Test Run

On November 28, 2008, the Balai Yasa (Workshop) Surabaya Gubeng conducted a test run on CC200 15 and Djoko Kendil passenger cars. The East Java branch of IRPS also participated in the event. The IRPS team consisted of Ian, Edja, Dimas, Addin and Danur.

A Visit to Surabaya Workshop, Surabaya Depot and Malang tour

handing over the steam locomotive repainting program

On August 9, 2008, the B52 12 steam locomotive, which was preserved in Transportation Museum in TMII Jakarta, was repainted by IRPS and two members of Sahabat Museum. The Chief of Transportation Museum, Mrs. Oyoh, also participated in the repainting process. Started in November 2007 until August 2007, there were 14 repainting activities in which 17 locomotives had been repainted (see table for details).

Spoorwegstations Op Batavia

On July 13, 2008, in cooperation with IRPS, Sahabat Museum (BatMus) community held Plesiran Tempo Dulu (PTD): Spoorwegstations Op Batavia. Its participants were 120 people. Sampurno, Risman Hudiyanto, Leo Krisanto, Aditya Dwi Laksana (IRPS Chairman) and Artanto Rizky Cahyono (IRPS Jakarta Secretary) represented IRPS. Mr Ahmad Sujadi (Chief of Public Relations of Operation Region I) represented Indonesian State Railway (PT Kereta Api).

CC200 15 Test Run on IRPS’ 6th Anniversary

On the same date of IRPS’ 6th anniversary on June 25, 2008, Balai Yasa (Workshop) Surabaya Gubeng conducted a test run of a special train. The trainset consisted of CC20015 and Djoko Kendil passenger cars. The trainset was painted in dark green and light yellow livery, a livery of the then Perusahaan Jawatan Kereta Api. The train ran from Surabaya Gubeng Station in East Java to Purwokerto Station in Central Java via Yogyakarta.

CC200 15 and NRU 38201 to be Preserved in Surabaya

On April 28, 2008, CC20015 departed from Cirebon to Surabaya via Semarang line. The locomotive pulled a passenger car numbered NRU 38201—the car was transferred to Cirebon from Manggarai Workshop two days before.
