Dalam acara ini para peserta yang terdiri dari IRPS, Komunitas Photografi, Komunitas Railfans yang tergabung dalam Mailing List Semboyan25, Komunitas Edan Spoor Indonesia serta komuitas lainnya berbaur menjadi satu untuk menikmati perjalanan kereta wisata Ambarawa. Acara ini berjalan hingga pukul 14.00 WIB.

Para peserta kegiatan secara bersama-sama berangkat menuju Stasiun Plabuan dengan menggunakan Kereta Api Luar Biasa (KLB) yang diberangkatkan dari Stasiun Semarang Tawang pukul 07.40 WIB. Tiba di Stasiun Plabuhan diadakan acara seremonial dulu yakni sambutan-sambutan, penyerahan bantuan pendidikan kepada warga setempat dan penyerahan bibit tanaman secara simbolis.

Setelah acara seremonial selesai, dilanjutkan dengan penanaman bibit tanaman secara bertahap di tepi pantai oleh VP CSR, VP Daop 4, unsur Muspika dan tokoh masyarakat setempat.

Setelah itu para peserta beramai-ramai berjalan menuju bibir pantai untuk menanam pohon magrove.  Pukul 12.30 WIB para peserta kembali ke Semarang dengan menaiki KLB.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, hadir dari IRPS, Ketua Aditya Dwi Laksana, Sekretaris Jenderal Asep Suherman dan Staf Sekretariat Gurnito. IRPS menyampaikan 2 materi yaitu Sejarah Perkeretaapian Indonesia dan Mengenal Perkeretaapian Indonesia kepada para peserta pelatihan.

Pada sesi Sejarah Perkeretaapian Indonesia, disajikan ulasan mengenai asal muasal perkeretaapian di Indonesia serta tonggak-tonggak sejarah perkeretaapian Indonesia. Sedangkan di sesi Mengenal Perkeretaapian Indonesia, disajikan gambaran mengenai jaringan perkeretaapian di Indonesia, jenis-jenis layanan perkeretaapian, mengenal jenis sarana KA (lokomotif, kereta dan gerbong), keunggulan dan permasalahan KA di Indonesia.

Setelah menyampaikan materi, acara dilanjutkan dengan sesi tanya jawab. Beragam pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh para mahasiswa/i peserta latihan kepemimpinan, mulai dari pelayanan, sarana dan prasarana, perbedaan antara lokomotif satu dengan lokomotif lainnya, kebijakan-kebijakan Pemerintah dan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) dan lain sebagainya.

Pada sekitar pukul 15.30 WIB, acara diakhiri dengan kesimpulan dari moderator dan penyerahan cinderamata dari HMD STMT Trisakti ke IRPS.

 In 1915, railway tracks of 1067 mm gauge were laid in the teak forest in Cepu for transporting timber. The length of the line was said to be about 300 kilometres, and the choice of 1067 mm gauge was thought to enable trains transporting the timber to enter the main line of Semarang-Surabaya. There was no accurate record of numbers and types of steam locomotives which had served on the line in the teak forest.

The locomotives left in a traction depot of Perum Perhutani Cepu were three Berliner Maschinenbau-Actien-Gesellschaft (BMAG)-made steam-powered locomotives named Tudjuhbelas, Agustus, and Bahagia—they were made in 1928; two Du Croo & Braun-made shunters; and a Ruston & Hornsby-made diesel-powered locomotive. There was also a steam locomotive made by Hanomag in 1922, then PJKA’s C29 02.Bahagia was the locomotive used to haul three passenger cars and two tenders on the occasion. In the past, it was used to haul timber-loaded wagons from the teak forest to a temporary storage. But now, it hauled tourists-loaded passenger cars to Gubug Payung Monument.

The train departed at 08:00 AM from a locomotive depot of Perum Perhutani. The route taken by the train was BKPH Ledok, Kendilan, Pasar Sore, Blungun, Nglobo, Cabak and Nglebur. Some of these locations were located in the subdistricts of Cepu, Sambong, Jepon and Jiken in Blora district, whereas the others were located in Kasiman subdistrict of Bojonegoro district in East Java Province.The train made several stops so that its passengers could visit a timber storage in Batokan, Cepu Timber Processing Industry, and a teak plantation field inside the complex of Cepu Research and Development Center.The train also stopped at other locations to let the passengers enjoy the scenery and take some photos. The train reached its final destination, Gubug Payung, at 11:20 AM.

The passengers went to the rest area, which was 300 metres away from the shelter where the train stopped. There was a 150-year-old teak near the rest area, but unfortunately it had been cut down.The train departed Gubug Payung shelter at 1 PM and arrived at the locomotive depot of Perhutani Cepu at 2:48 PM.

 They were greeted by staff of PT Kereta Api Daerah Operasi (Operation Region) 8, i.e Chief of Finance Department Surabaya Gubeng workshop Titik, Chief Of Public Relations Sugeng Priyono, Chief of Surabaya Gubeng Workshop Djoko Hardijanto, Chief of Planning Sectin Suryanto and UKP Rame.

 In this occasion, Chairman of IRPS presented the history and missions of IRPS, whereas Djoko Hardijanto presented the history and the condition of Gubeng workshop. Djoko also told the team about CC200 15 which was in Surabaya after being moved from Cirebon, West Java, and the NRU wagon which was moved from Manggarai, Jakarta.  After exchanging souvenirs, Djoko lead the team to CC200 15 which was coupled to Djoko Kendil (IW 38212, then K3 38201/CR 5309) and IW 38221. The IW 38212 had wooden interior. There were a flat-screen television, a desk and a chair made of teak wood, a minibar and an electric generator. IW 38221 also had wooden interior and luxurious seats. Then Djoko handed off three models of a CC203 class locomotive, an executive passenger car and a tank car in Pertamina livery.

 Then the team went to Sidotopo depot. They were greeted by Sugeng Priyono, Chief of Planning Section Djunaedy and Administration Section Hadi Sutantyo. Djunaedy presented the conditions of the depot and problems the staff of the depot were facing. After the discussion, the team went to the car depot. Chief of Sidotopo Depot Sugeng Sutijoso and a member of his staff had been waiting for the team. In the depot, the team encountered former Cakraningrat car. 

On November 15, 2008, the Surabaya-Malang-Blitar-Kertosono-Surabaya tour began. The IRPS team, consisted of 12 people, boarded the 7:50 AM Penataran Ikon in Surabaya Gubeng Station. They were accompanied by Djoko Hardijanto. The train arrived at Malang Station at 10:45 AM. Only some members of the team continued the journey to Blitar, then to Kertosono and finally to Surabaya.
